Farewell Adam!

Technically, today was to be Adam’s last day working with us here at Shift Computer Solutions, but I gave him the day off! Adam has been a great asset to our company over the last five years, and I know a lot of our clients have grown to appreciate his help, so I thought I would take this opportunity to publicly wish him all best for the future, and say that all of us here will miss him.

You will be assisting customers with the latest IT and business equipment including computers, servers, printers, peripherals, PDA’s, Networking hardware.

We offer you the opportunity to independently work to further both your and our goals, while still being part of a tight knit team working together to achieve our objectives.

To get this job, you’ll need;

A minimum of 1 year experience in a desktop support experience;
Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills;
Great technical trouble-shooting skills, both hardware and software and have excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (XP), Dial-up, ADSL and network connectivity, installing and repairing various hardware and software;
Knowledge of wifi, routers and other common networking and internet systems.
Spyware / Anti Virus knowledge, although we are the masters of spyware removal and will train you to be one too!
Ability to communicate technical language into laymen’s terms;
Passion for always exceeding the customer’s expectations;
Collaborative behaviour and contribute to building an environment of knowledge sharing & respect;
You must hold a valid, unrestricted Class C drivers licence;

I was just reading an article about a woman in the US who is suing Microsoft for charging her about US$60 to downgrade her new laptop from Windows Vista to Windows XP. That story is pretty strange, because Microsoft do not charge for this, it’s part of the licence you get when you buy Windows Vista Business edition.

So I thought I’d remind my readers that our business customers who, for a variety of reasons, need to keep their desktops with Windows XP for the time being, can do so on a new Shift Solutions Desktop computer at no extra charge. So you can get a computer today that is compatible with your older hardware and software, and is also ready for the new stuff of tomorrow, all at no extra cost!

The Redbank Plains State High School awards evening was held last night, and our 2008 I.T. Award winner was announced. Congratulations to Vannasouk Phadilok for his outstanding achievement in taking out this years prize.

It was again fantastic to see the large numbers of students being awarded and celebrated, including last years I.T. Award Winner Adam Linsket picking up the Ron Rice Quiet Achiever Award.

High Quality Colour Laser Printers

For any clients interested in a new printer, consider getting a colour laser printer; We use one in the office for all our colour document production, and the new Fuji Xerox machine we are using prints fantastically.

Best of all, its so cheap we can’t advertise the price! We have secured a very limited number of units at a very special price, and are happy to pass the savings on, but its first in best dressed.
